At Enslow Middle School we educate
roughly 260 students daily with a faculty of about 30 teachers.
We try to meet the social, education, and personal needs of each of
our students to ensure that they leave us as well-rounded and
productive students that can enter the world prepared to take on
anything.
SCHOOL HISTORY
Enslow Junior High School opened in 1917. It
was named in honor of Miss Blanche Enslow, a teacher at Central High
School. The 24-classroom building cost $240,000.00. Enslow became a
middle school in 1989, and the following year became the first
Invitational School in West Virginia.
ENSLOW AS A MIDDLE SCHOOL
The middle school is for students in sixth
through eighth grade. It is a school for students who are
changing from childhood to adolescence. These adolescents are
at a unique period in their lives and only a unique school will be
do. The middle school is attempting to be what the junior high
school said it wanted to be: a special school in the middle to meet
the needs of this particular age group. When it comes to
extra-curricular activities like athletics and other special areas,
interested participation is the key. The middle school has
something for everyone who wants to be involved. |
